Some of you remember the video I posted last year where I talked about what's been going on with my hand. Years of repetitive work at my old job finally caught up with me, and it got to the point where recording, even playing for any length of time, became genuinely painful. That's a big part of why the videos have looked the way they have for a while.
I've been quieter about it since then because honestly, it got worse. A year ago I could at least sit down for an hour and work through an arrangement. Now I'm stopping every few minutes to shake my hand out and wait for the throbbing to die down before I can keep going. Five, ten minutes and it becomes agonizing. I've tried my best to push through it this past year; keep arranging like usual. I can't anymore.
This Monday (today) I have a consultation with a hand specialist. Not "I should really get this looked at someday." An actual appointment, on an actual calendar, with a surgeon.
The plan is surgery. I know what I'm walking into.
I'm not scared. I'm ready.
