Hey everyone!
Just wanted to give a couple little updates.
First, I finally got something added to the website that I've wanted for a while now: a forum!
Maybe this is just me getting old, but I've always preferred forums over chat servers. I know Discord is where everybody hangs out these days, and I totally get why people like it, but I've never really been able to keep up with the pace of it.
One conversation turns into three, then ten more start underneath it, and before long the thing you wanted to reply to is buried somewhere way up the scroll.
Forums always felt different.
One thread. One topic. You could actually sit with an idea for a while before replying. If you disappeared for a week, you could come back and pick up right where you left off. Conversations had room to breathe.
Some of my favorite memories from GameTabs weren't even posting arrangements. They were the discussions on the forums afterward. People asking questions, sharing ideas, getting into long conversations about music and games. I miss that.
So I thought... why not bring a little bit of that feeling over here?
Right now there are sections for introductions, arrangement requests, tab questions, general discussion, tips, and...well just hop on over and see. It's brand new, so it's a little quiet at the moment, but that's how every forum starts.
If you've got a minute, stop by and say hello. I'd love to see it grow into a nice little community.
On another note, a few people have asked how my hand has been doing.
I finally had all of the testing done, which was good news.
The bad news is everything kind of slammed into a wall after that.
Things had actually been moving surprisingly fast. Initial consultation, referral, nerve tests... everything was happening one after another. But when I called to schedule the follow-up appointment, they told me the earliest they could get me in was July 30th.
That was... not what I was hoping to hear.
The doctor had already told me before the tests that the next appointment would basically be going over the results, deciding which surgery made the most sense, and getting it scheduled. The tests were really just the last thing he needed before moving forward.
So it's a little frustrating knowing everything is basically on pause for another month.
Unfortunately, because I bought a voucher specifically to see this doctor, switching to someone else isn't really an option now. So... I wait.
Not the most exciting update, I know, but I figured I'd let everyone know where things stand. Hopefully once July 30th rolls around everything will start moving again.
Anyway, thanks for all the kind messages and for checking in on me. It really does mean a lot.
And if you haven't already, come hang out over in The Bear's Den. I'd love to bring back a little of that old GameTabs forum magic.
